i was so excited about this app and all that and then i download it…..and guess frigging what!? IT WON’T FRICKING OPEN!!! I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO OPEN IT, SEVERAL DIFFERENT WAYS AND IT WILL NOT OPEN!!!! GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Batterie Guard makes a good job, you can display the rest of charging time to Percent or Time and it also works with Mountain Lion just the Icon for the Menu Bar is a bit to big for me
This is a great little app. I upgraded to Mountain Lion and Apple had gotten rid of the time remaining indicator. This little app takes care of that. I wish though you could switch the icon from a lightening bolt to a battery instead. Not a big deal but would be nice.
Very nice and need. Does exactly what it was promised. Easy to use, simple design. Good Job guys. thanks
Tried to reinstall it after a reinstall of Snow Leopard, but it wont work at all now. It just hangs in the dock - wont open, wont do anything useful. Uninstalling it now. Initial Review: Really appreciate the information it shows - very concise and informative, but... even though Ive checked for it to launch at startup, it never does. I have to manually go and start it up each time. Also, I really dislike the icon used. I know it goes back to OS 9 battery icon days, but its confusing to try and single out without some serious concentration to single it out in the menubar. Its not representatiive of what Ive been used to looking for in an Apple Menu bar for ten years now when I want to get a quick update on the status of my laptops battery, and this seriously limits its usefulness in my books. Love to have it up there, but please give it an icon that tells the user at a quick glance that it is a battery utility. Thanks.
Does all and more! love it, my Time remaining is back. Dev please add the ability to hide the thunderbolt :)
It works well and seems to be accurate! I think a Retina-friendly icon for the menu bar (and settings icon) would be an easy improvement. Thanks!
Application doesnt autorun at startup with "Launch at startup" is checked.
Frequently displaying charging message while the power adapter wasnt plugged. Probably some bug, or calculation with wrong way, increase in current battery charge does;t mean that its charging.
AND! Please make an iPhone version. You will have a lot more adoption if you make it a replacement for the Mac OS battery widget. Also if you had some predictors (e.g how long before this battery wont hold a charge), based on the actuals. Also if you could show number of cycles. Nice app, just needs some feature improvements.
I somewhat disagree with the other rating opinions. For this reason I gave the app a 5, when it really should have been a 4 1/2, but that wasnt available as an alternative. Yes they could add a couple of more elements to the app, and Im sure in the future that there will be changes and improvements made. But in the meantime this app does exactly what i need it to do, and that is to monitor the battery time left on a charge when I am using it, and also it will allow me to make adjustments.
In my original review, I noted that the apps status bar pop-over remains deployed after going to LaunchPad and that the apps status bar icon should show the amount of charge (or recharge time) remaining. In the first update, the dev fixed both. Very cool! So now, my new review: perfect OEM battery statusbar app replacement. 5 stars and some kisses too.
I need the reminder at 10% battery because I do not pay attention to it so the computer ends up giving me a black screen due to 0% battery power with this because theres no reminder or warning telling me that it will go on resort power or it is just below 10%. If that was implemented it would really be amazing. Also. Maybe instead of the Static Lightning bolt picture, maybe you could make it so that it drains like the built in battery monitor.
Battery Guard is among the most useful and awesome apps. However, lack of support for Mountain Lion is disturbing. Please fix it, and I will return 5-star rating with great pleasure
One of my favorite programs. Now compatible with Mountain Lion! Awesome!!
When I upgraded to ML, the "time left" view of the battery was gone. This app brings it back, yeah!!!
this is just the perfect app for battery power. stop looking and get it now. It works with mountain lion as well as lion. For those looking for a complicated battery app with lots of gadgets, dont choose this. This is plain quality but nothing more. It is perfect, without being loaded with effects no one ever uses.
Wont launch at all on my MBAir.
Does all that the Apple battery monitor does not and it does it perfectly. Shows time, important for those of us "on the go", not simply percentage remaining. Also provides number of cycles, current flow, and a nice doc icon so that you can remove the Apple battery icon.
